Qatar exit FIBA Asia Cup after defeat to Australia

JEDDAH: Qatar’s basketball team concluded their FIBA Asia Cup campaign with an 82-110 loss to Australia on Sunday in the final round of Group A action in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The defeat marked Qatar’s third consecutive loss in the group stage, sealing their exit from the tournament.

Earlier in the competition, Qatar narrowly lost to Lebanon 80-84 in the opener and then fell to South Korea 83-97 in their second outing. Despite showing flashes of promise, the team couldn’t turn the tide in a challenging group.

Australia, meanwhile, dominated Group A with three wins out of three to book a direct spot in the quarter-finals. Qatar finished bottom of the group with no victories.(QNA)
