Olympics: Serbia stages epic comeback to stun Australia

PARIS – In one of the most dramatic games in Olympic basketball history, Serbia staged an incredible comeback to defeat Australia 95-90 in overtime on Tuesday. The Serbs erased a staggering 24-point deficit to advance to the Paris 2024 basketball semifinals.
Nikola Jokic led the charge with 21 points, 14 rebounds, and eight assists, while Bogdan Bogdanovic added 17 points. Patty Mills was the standout for Australia, scoring 26 points, but it wasn’t enough to prevent the stunning upset.
Meanwhile, France secured their place in the semifinals with an 82-73 victory over Canada. Guerschon Yabusele and Isaia Cordinier led the French charge, while Shai Gilgeous-Alexander scored 27 points for Canada.
Germany also advanced, defeating Greece 76-63. Franz Wagner and Dennis Schroder were key contributors for the Germans, while Giannis Antetokounmpo scored 22 points for Greece.
With the United States facing Brazil later in the day, the stage is set for an exciting semifinal round.
