Mitchell and Jerome power Cavaliers to dominant win over Raptors

Donovan Mitchell and Ty Jerome each delivered 26-point performances to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers past the Toronto Raptors 122-108 on Sunday. With the victory, the Cavaliers, boasting the NBA’s best record, improved to 17-1, including a flawless 10-0 at home.

Jarrett Allen contributed a double-double with 23 points and 13 rebounds for Cleveland, while Gradey Dick and Scottie Barnes each scored 18 points to pace the Raptors.

The Cavaliers started the season with a 15-game win streak before a narrow loss to Boston last week. They quickly rebounded with wins against New Orleans and now Toronto. “It’s a special place to play,” said Mitchell about Cleveland’s home dominance. “It’s always loud when we play. It’s always comfortable coming back here and knowing we’re going to get a loud ovation every time.”

Elsewhere, the Boston Celtics edged out the Minnesota Timberwolves 107-105, led by Jaylen Brown’s 29 points and Jayson Tatum’s 26. Celtics coach Joe Mazzulla praised his team’s defense and composure, which extended their win streak to five games.

In Miami, Jimmy Butler scored 33 points, including a game-tying dunk to force overtime, as the Heat beat the Dallas Mavericks 123-118. Bam Adebayo added 19 points and 11 rebounds in the win.
