Miami win FIBA 3×3 World Tour Edmonton 2024
EDMONTON (Canada): Miami (USA) go unbeaten in Canada, defeating Vienna (AUT) 21-18 in a nail-biting final to win the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Edmonton 2024 on July 7.
They handled business in dominant fashion all tournament, last fending off Serbian powerhouse Partizan to book a spot in the final. They would face Austrian side Vienna who cleaned up on their side of the bracket as well.
The finals matchup started off cagey with both teams looking to grind the other down defensively. Vienna started off scoring in the interior before Miami star Jimmer Fredette got things going for his side from mid-range.
With both sides having players adept at creating their own shot, what followed was a back and forth scoring battle with no team letting up the edge. Quincy Diggs made huge buckets to give Vienna a slight advantage early on but Miami stayed within distance thanks to the incisive Canyon Barry and Kareem Maddox. Dylan Travis proved to be immense on both ends of the floor.
