Gilgeous-Alexander leads Thunder to record-breaking win over Pelicans

OKLAHOMA: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander dazzled with 31 points as the Oklahoma City Thunder set a franchise record with 27 made three-pointers in a commanding 137-101 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday. The win extended the Thunder’s impressive streak to six games, with an average margin of victory of 25.8 points.

Aaron Wiggins contributed 24 points, including four three-pointers, while Alex Caruso added 12 points with the same long-range accuracy. Jalen Williams chipped in 16 points for the Thunder, who dominated from start to finish.

On the Pelicans’ side, Zion Williamson managed 17 points and five assists after scoring a season-high 40 points in a loss to Sacramento on Saturday. The defeat marked New Orleans’ ninth consecutive loss.

In another game, Nikola Jokic scored 40 points to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 146-117 triumph over the Portland Trail Blazers, extending Denver’s win streak to seven games. Christian Braun and Julian Strawther added 26 and 18 points, respectively, while Jamal Murray notched 17 points and eight assists before being ejected in the fourth quarter.
