GCC Coordination Committee meeting held in Doha

DOHA: The meeting of the Coordination Committee of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries was chaired by Mohammed Saad Al-Mughaisib, President of the Qatar Basketball Federation (QBF), at the W Doha Hotel on the sidelines of the U-16 Asian Championship.
The meeting was attended by Dr. K. Govindaraj, President of the Asian Basketball Confederation (ABC), Hagop Kagerian, Secretary-General of the ABC, and members of the Gulf Coordination Committee.
During the meeting, it was ensured that the Gulf Cup tournaments would return in all competitions and age groups.
Dr. Govindaraj announced their cooperation with the Gulf Committee in all fields and praised the efforts of the Gulf federations.
ABC President proposed holding special tournaments for the under-15 age groups, simultaneous with the tournaments for the age groups, in order to prepare them appropriately.
Mohammed Saad Al-Mughaisib, Chairman of the Gulf Basketball Coordination Committee, expressed his great happiness with the great cooperation and coordination they found from the International and Asian Federations. Al-Mughaisib stated that the return of the Gulf basketball championships during the coming period would contribute greatly to developing the level of the game and increasing its followers. He also emphasized the importance of paying attention to the age groups and working in every way possible to develop the game, as outlined in their plan launched from now until 2029.
Saadoun Sabah Al-Kuwari, the Secretary-General of the Coordination Committee, stated that the second coordination meeting of the committee was attended by all members, as well as the President and the Secretary-General of the Asian Basketball Federation. Consequently, a collaborative mechanism was established to serve the public’s best interests.
