Al Shamal to meet Al Ahli, Al Gharafa up against Qatar SC in Qatar Basketball League

DOHA: The competitions of the fifth round of the 2024-2025 season of the Qatar Basketball League will continue on Wednesday, as two important matches will be held at the Indoor Hall of Al Gharafa Club, as Al Shamal meet Al Ahli in the first game at 5:00 pm, while the second game brings together Al Gharafa and Qatar SC at 7:00 pm.

The excitement continues the next day with strong games, most notably the confrontation between Al Wakrah and Al Arabi and Al Sadd and Al Rayyan, which are expected to be the epic of the round due to the direct contest for the lead.

Al Rayyan entered the round at the top of the standings with 10 points, achieving the full points with four consecutive victories, confirming their worthiness as one of the most prominent candidates to win the title this season.

As for Al Sadd, which occupy second place with nine points, they are still in direct pursuit of Al Rayyan, setting their sights on winning their next game to maintain pressure on the leader and perhaps snatch the top spot if Al Rayyan stumbles.

In third place, Al Arabi cling to their strong chances after collecting eight points, while Al Ahli enter the fourth game in the standings with six points, tied with Al Khor, Al Wakrah, and Al Shamal, as these teams seek to exploit the results of the current round to improve their positions and get closer to the competition circle.

The spotlight is also on the bottom teams in this round, as Qatar SC face a difficult test in eighth place with five points, while Al Gharafa are in ninth and last place with four points, in a serious attempt to return to the winning track and avoid continuing negative results.

The teams head to the fifth round with great focus, supported by intensive preparations and technical strategies aimed at exploiting strengths, especially in light of the close levels between the teams.

Al Rayyan and Al Sadd rely on strong collective performance and field experience, while the middle teams such as Al Arabi and Al Ahli are looking to impose themselves by focusing on strong defense and quick counterattacks.

In contrast, the bottom teams such as Al Gharafa and Qatar SC, need to improve their shooting accuracy and strengthen their defenses to avoid successive defeats.
