Al Gharafa crowned champions of Clubs Basketball League Championship

Doha: Al Gharafa Club has been declared the champion of the 2024-2025 season of the Cubs Basketball League Championship, following an exceptional performance throughout the season. The team secured the championship title with a total of 24 points, achieving a perfect record by winning all 12 of their matches.
The team rightfully received the championship shield and gold medals, showcasing a remarkable level of technical skill and physical prowess amidst fierce competition from other participating teams.
Al Sadd finished in second place, earning silver medals with a total of 21 points from 9 victories and 3 defeats. Al Ahli secured third place with 19 points, having won 7 matches and lost 5. Al Arabi also claimed fourth place, matching Al Ahli’s record of 19 points with an identical win-loss ratio.
In fifth place, Al Rayyan accumulated 17 points after winning 5 matches, while Al Wakrah followed closely in sixth place with 16 points, also winning 5 matches but losing 6. Qatar and Al Khor tied for seventh and eighth places, respectively, with 16 points and 12 points. Al Shamal rounded out the standings in ninth place with 12 points.
The tournament was marked by intense competition among the participating teams, with matches reflecting high sportsmanship and impressive technical abilities from all sides. The Al Gharafa team consistently demonstrated a strong collective performance throughout the tournament, solidifying its status among the elite teams in Qatari basketball.
Regarding the performances of other teams, Al Sadd had a commendable season and emerged as one of the strongest contenders for the title, although they ultimately fell short against Al Gharafa. Al Ahli and Al Arabi maintained consistent performances, remaining in contention for the top positions, while Al Rayyan and Al Wakrah also showcased their strength in this season’s league.
The crowning ceremony of the winners took place at the end of the tournament, where Mishaal Abdullah Al Malki, a member of the Federation’s Board of Directors and Chairman of the Media Committee, presented the awards and medals to the winning teams.
