QFA takes digital media campaign to new levels

Doha: The Qatar Football Association (QFA) is set to take its digital media campaign to new levels, ahead of the 2022 World Cup, which kicks off on November 20 in Qatar.

With the hosts making their first appearance in the tournament, the QFA is producing and promoting specialised content designed to attract fans and bring them closer to the national team.

Abdulrahman Al-Abduljabbar, Digital Media Officer at the QFA, stated that the campaign which began in mid-September has already seen the production of more than 20 videos, in addition to five new songs for the national team, in cooperation with Qatar TV, Qatar Media Corporation, Sowt Al Khaleej and Qatar Radio.

He said: “The campaign aims to drum up support for the team and encourage our fans to stand with the team during the World Cup, which will be an important occasion for Qatari football.”

Mr. Al-Abduljabbar also said that the QFA was looking to expand its digital reach, with the recent decision to start accounts on Snapchat and TikTok coming as part of that strategy.

“With the World Cup fast approaching, we wish to put our fans at the heart of everything we do at the QFA. We want to reach as many people as possible and we want them to be as close as possible to the national team, so that they can feel and share the love for them in the stands at the stadiums,” he added.
