Qatar U23 team gets ready for AFC U23 Championship

Baku: Qatar Olympic football team continued its preparations in the Azerbaijani capital ahead of the AFC U-23 Championship to be held in Uzbekistan from 1-19 June.

Qatar is clubbed in Group A with Iran, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

Qatar’s Chilean coach Nicholas Cordova is hoping to prepare the team before the competition.

The Qatari team had arrived in Baku last Saturday to attend a preparatory camp. The team will return to to Doha to face Jordan on May 23 and 26 in friendlies before heading to the Uzbek capital Tashkent.

The matches will be held at Al Janoub Stadium at 7:00 pm, where the Qatar Football Association will host the Jordanian Olympic team in a training camp in Doha from May 21-28.

The Qatari team had participated in the Dubai friendly championship that was held recently in the UAE with the participation of a number of Asian teams.
