Qatar table tennis chief appointed to ITTF governance task force

DOHA – International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) Executive Board has appointed Qatar Table Tennis Association (QTTA) President Hamad Ahmed Al Hammadi as an expert member of a task force responsible for drafting and developing the body’s governance regulations.

The task force will work on regulations covering the ITTF General Assembly and Executive Board, elections and the organisation of various committees as part of the implementation of the federation’s new constitution.

Al Hammadi’s appointment reflects Qatar’s growing involvement in international table tennis governance and recognition of its expertise in sports administration.

“This position is a substantial responsibility and a vote of confidence,” Al Hammadi said, adding that the role would allow Qatari expertise to contribute to the future development of world table tennis.

He said he was ready to share his experience and ideas to strengthen the sport’s institutional framework and improve governance at the international level.

The implementation of the ITTF’s new constitution marks an important stage in the federation’s governance reforms, with the new regulations intended to promote greater transparency and efficiency while clarifying the roles of its various committees and governing bodies.

Al Hammadi said he was committed to helping develop clear and effective regulations that would strengthen the federation’s operations and ensure its governance structures keep pace with the needs of the global table tennis community.

His appointment further strengthens Qatar’s presence in international sports administration and governance.
