Doha: Qatar Athletics Federation announced Tuesday that the national team’s 400m and 400m hurdles sprinters are undergoing an intensive training camp in South Africa to prepare for upcoming continental, regional, and international athletics competitions.
The federation emphasized that the camp will continue until the athletes are fully equipped to face future challenges, with the aim of maintaining Qatar’s excellence in athletics and securing medals across all age categories.
The training camp features a group of prominent athletes, including Bassem Hemeida, Asian champion in the 400m hurdles and gold medalist at the last Asian Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. Other participants include sprinters Ammar Ismail and Ashraf Othman, specializing in the 400m.(Reuters)
