Kazakhstan Gymnastics Team concludes successful training camp in Doha
Doha: The Kazakhstan artistic gymnastics team has successfully completed its two-week training camp in Doha, where they engaged in joint sessions with the Qatari gymnastics team at the Qatar Gymnastics Federation Hall in Al Luqta.
The Kazakh delegation expressed admiration for the state-of-the-art facilities and advanced equipment at the training hall, praising the Qatar Gymnastics Federation (QGF) for its exceptional support in ensuring the camp’s success.
The training camp was part of Kazakhstan’s preparations for upcoming international competitions, providing its athletes with an opportunity to refine their skills in a high-performance environment.
Ali Al-Hitmi, President of the QGF, highlighted the significance of such camps, emphasizing their mutual benefits.
He noted that training alongside international and Olympic-level athletes enhances the experience and competitiveness of the Qatari team.
“Qatar’s world-class infrastructure and hospitality make it a preferred destination for gymnastics teams worldwide,” Al-Hitmi stated.
He also pointed out that Kazakhstan has previously held similar training camps in Doha, along with teams from Romania, Australia, Indonesia, India, Yemen, Bahrain, and Kuwait.
Beyond the technical benefits, Al Hitmi stressed the positive impact of these camps on sports tourism, with visiting delegations contributing to the local economy through accommodations, transportation, and other services.
The Kazakh team, he added, was highly impressed by Qatar’s modern sporting facilities and expressed interest in returning for future camps.
Kim Alexander, coach of the Kazakhstan Gymnastics Federation, extended his gratitude to the QGF and its president for their warm hospitality and outstanding organization.
Alexander praised the high-quality training environment, describing the camp as one of the best the Kazakh team has participated in in recent years.
The Kazakhstan Gymnastics Federation had formally requested to hold the camp in Doha, and Qatar readily agreed, given the strong ties between the two federations.
