Yousef El Arabi scores a double as Al Duhail overcome Umm Salal 3-1

DOHA: Yousef El Arabi scored a double as defending champions Al Duhail fought back from a goal down to beat Umm Salal 3-1 in the 19th round match of Qatar Stars League on Saturday evening.

Substitute Mohammed Muntari added the third in the second-half added time as Lawrence Quaye had put Umm Salal ahead in the 54th minute following a goalless first half.

El Arabi, top scorer in league’s last two seasons, cancelled out Quaye’s goal in the 64th when he slotted home a cross by Paolo Edmilson.

The Moroccan international then helped his side take the lead with his second in the first minute of the added time after he was put through by Ali Afif.  

Muntari, who replaced Murad Naji in the 55th minute, rounded off the tally as Duhail notched up their 14th victory to be behind Al Sadd, who beat Al Sailiya 2-0, with 46 points.

Umm Salal, who tasted their third successive defeat, stayed on 20 points.
