We hope to maintain good run, says Gharafa’s Adlene

DOHA: Al Gharafa has done pretty well so far in the Qatar Stars League by occupying the second position on the league table at the end of third round.

The club’s overseas recruitment this season has been good with their Algerian international and midfielder Adlene Guedioura having boosted the side’s confidence in crunch games.

“We had a good start and haven’t lost a game so far. We hope to maintain momentum, but we still need ti improve a lot,” Adlene told QSL website.

The Cheetahs are unbeaten, but have a tough job at hand when they face Al Ahli in the fourth round on Thursday at Al Sadd Stadium.

“Ahli will be tough because they had also won in the last round. I hope it’ll be a good game. But every match is difficult as all teams are good. We must compete well and try to win matches,” said the 33-year-old, who had stints in England with top clubs.

On his joining the Qatari side, he added: “Gharafa is a top team. When I received an offer, I was glad to join them. I’ve played under present coach Slavisa Jokanovic (at Watford in England) and many of my friends who’ve played in Gharafa encouraged me to join.”
