Victory will boost our confidence: Weiss

Vladimir Weiss, who did the star turn in Al Gharafa’s win over Al Rayyan, said the result would boost his team’s confidence.

“Rayyan have many good players, especially Rodrigo Tabata. We tried to keep him out of the game. We showed a lot of heart. I think we deserved three points,” said Weiss. “We were unlucky to lose in the first two games. Then we had a few draws. Now we’ve achieved four wins in a row and that’ll give us a lot of confidence.”

The Slovak said the team was eying a top-four finish.

“Our target before the season was to finish in the top four. We’ve moved into it and now we’ll try to consolidate our position before the first phase ends on December 25,” added Weiss.
