Soria nets hat-trick in Qatar’s win

DOHA: Uruguayan-born striker Sebastian Soria scored a hat-trick as Qatar defeated Serbia 3-0 in an international friendly at the Al Sadd Stadium on Thursday.

Soria found the back of the net in the 24th, 30th and 43rd minutes.

It was Jorge Fossati’s first game in charge as Qatar coach.

The match was a part of Qatar’s preparations for their upcoming 2018 World Cup Asian Zone qualifiers against South Korea (away) and Syria (home), to be played on October 6 and 11 respectively.

Qatar will leave for Suwon on October 3 for the South Korea tie.
