LEKHWIYA 2  L AHLI 1

Lekhwiya defeated Ahli to win their fifth league title with one match to spare. The Cops fell behind as early as the fourth minute to a goal by Ali Ferydoon, who capitalised on defender Khaled Radwan’s blunder. Hard-working winger Ismail Mohammed equalised in the 35th, but Djamel Belmadi’s men had to wait till injury time to find the winner, which came through South Korean midfielder Nam Tae-Hee.

AL SADD 2  L SAILIYA 2

Sadd let slip the advantage to settle for a draw with 10-man Sailiya. Spanish captain Xavi Hernandez put Sadd in front in the 14th while Sanjar Shaakhmedov equalised a minute later. Sailiya then went in front through Valentin Lazar in the 71st while Baghdad Bounedjah converted from the spot to make it 2-2 in the 83rd.

AL RAYYAN 1  L ARABI 1

Rayyan, who yet again played almost an hour with 10 men after losing midfielder Ulysses Pascua to a red card in the 33rd minute, settled for a draw with arch-rivals Arabi. Sebastian Soria gave Rayyan the lead in the 46th while Imoh Ezekiel drew parity six minutes later.

AL GHARAFA 2  L JAISH 1

Jaish wasted a chance to climb above Rayyan into third position when they lost 1-2 to Gharafa, who ended up with 10 men after losing Johnson Kendrik to a red card late in the game. Othman Al Yahri opened Gharafa’s account in the 72nd while Abdulqader Ilyas equalised a minute later. Al Mahdi Ali then found Gharafa’s winner in injury time.

Shahaniya let slip a one-goal advantage to settle for a draw. The single point proved crucial as they took a four-point lead over Muaither and qualified for the relegation play-off against Qatar Sports Club. Saud Al Khalaqi put Shahaniya ahead in the

16th while Mouhcine Iajour equalised in the 34th.

AL WAKRAH 2  MM SALAL 2

Wakrah twice came from behind to hold Umm Salal. Yannick Sagbo put Umm Salal ahead in the 16th while Mouhcine Moutouali equalised in the 31st. Sagbo restored the men in orange’s lead in the 41st while Mahir Yousef made it 2-2 in the 65th.

MUAITHER 0  L KHARAITIYAT 2

Kharaitiyat blanked Muaither to continue their good work in the second phase. Moroccan forward Rachid Tiberkanine opened Kharaitiyat’s account in the 47th while Sanjar Tursunov made it 2-0 in the 59th.
