EL JAISH 1 AL GHARAFA 2
Gharafa played aggressively to hand title hopefuls Jaish a big setback. Hungary striker Krisztian Nemeth slotted home a stunning volley to put the Soldiers ahead in the 25th. Uzbek forward Sardor Rashidov drew parity in the 66th while Vladimir Weiss converted from the spot 11 minutes later to ensure full points for Gharafa.
AL SHAHANIYA 2 AL KHOR 2
Shahaniya came from two goals behind to hold Khor. Brazilian defender Welinton (26th) and Ali Abdulkarim (42nd) made it 2-0 for Khor while Fahad Khalfan (61st) and Khaled Gourmi (72nd) ensured the promoted side walked away with a point.
AL SAILIYA 1 AL SADD 3
Sadd defeated Sailiya to climb to the top. Morteza Mohammed (sixth), Xavi Hernandez (33rd) and Khalfan Ibrahim (74th) scored for the Wolves while Sayaf Al Korbi (87th) struck Sailiya’s consolation goal.
AL AHLI 1 LEKHWIYA 2
Almoez Ali, who came on as a second-half substitute, struck deep into injury time as Lekhwiya came from behind to defeat a spirited Al Ahli. Firmin Mubele converted a penalty in the 73rd to put Ahli in front while Youssef El Arabi equalised in the 88th, also from the spot.
UMM SALAL 3 AL WAKRAH 1
The men in orange, who played for the first time under new Egyptian coach Mahmoud Jaber, defeated Wakrah. Yannick Sagbo (38th), Dheyab Hassan (46th) and Hilal Mohammed (64th) scored for the winners after Uruguayan Pablo Olivera put Wakrah in front as early as the eighth minute.
AL KHARAITIYAT 1 MUAITHER 0
Al Kharaitiyat defeated promoted side Muaither to climb two places to 12th. Burly Brazilian defender Domingos Nascimento struck the all-important goal deep into injury time.
AL RAYYAN 3 AL ARABI 0
Champions Rayyan thumped Arabi. First-half efforts from South Korean midfielder Koh Myong-Jin (20th) and Sebastian Soria (27th) as well as a Vivien Koua own goal (51st) ensured full points for Michael Laudrup’s men.
