Qatari officials to oversee Ireland–Switzerland U-17 World Cup round of 16 match

DOHA: FIFA’s Referees Committee has appointed a Qatari officiating crew to take charge of the Round of 16 showdown between Ireland and Switzerland at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025. The match is set for Tuesday at Mohammed Ghanem Stadium in Aspire Zone.

Leading the team is Mohammed Ahmed Al Shammari, who will serve as the on-field referee. He will be supported by first assistant referee Khalid Al Ayed and second assistant referee Faisal Eid Al Shammari.

This assignment marks the fourth appearance for the Qatari trio in the tournament. They previously oversaw Switzerland vs Cote d’Ivoire in the opening round, England vs Haiti in the second round, and El Salvador vs Germany in the third round, earning praise for their consistent and composed officiating.

Their latest appointment underscores FIFA’s confidence in the Qatari crew as the knockout stage intensifies.
