Qatar U19 squad ready for FIFA U20 World Cup

DOHA: The Qatar U19 squad, who are preparing for FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland, have completed a training session in Slovakia ahead of the May 23-June 15 championship.
Coached by Portuguese Bruno Miguel, Qatar are clubbed with Ukraine, Nigeria and USA in Group D. The team is currently in France for their second training camp and will face Albania on May 15 following by a match against a Belgian side three days later.
Al Annabi played a friendly against South Africa on May 5, but they lost 1-0. On May 8, Qatar beat Honduras 2-1 producing a quality game under pressure.
Coach Miguel gave most of his players a run in the match ahead of the team’s first match against Nigeria on May 24. Qatar face Ukraine on May 27 followed by a match against the USA on May 30.
Qatar will be making their fourth FIFA U-20 World Cup appearance at Poland 2019 after making their debut in 1981 when they finished second.
They hosted the competition in 1996, but bowed out in the first round. They had a similar outcome 20 years later when they finished at the bottom of Group C in New Zealand 2015.
The FIFA U-20 World Cup – now into its 22nd edition – is contested by the under-20 national teams of the member associations of FIFA.
England won the previous tournament, but won't defend crown after losing 3–0 to Norway in a play-off for the final qualifying place at the 2018 UEFA European Under-19 Championship in Finland.
