Qatar to take on Iraq in Gulf Cup opener

Doha, Qatar: Asian champions Qatar will take on Iraq in the opening match of the 24th Arabian Gulf Cup at the Khalifa International Stadium on November 26.

Felix Sanchez-coached Qatar will take on Yemen in the second match before finishing off their Group A engagements with a game against the UAE.

Reigning champions Oman will take on Bahrain on November 27 to kick off Group B action. Saudi Arabia and Kuwait are other teams in Group B.

The top two teams from each group will progress to the semifinals to be held on December 5 while the final will be on December 8.

The matches will be held at Khalifa International Stadium and Al Duhail Stadium.
