Qatar Stars League revise second, third week matches
DOHA: The Qatar Stars League (QSL) has revised the schedule of second and third weeks of 2019-20 season.
Al Shahania’s match against Al Sadd in Week 2, which was originally scheduled for Thursday, has been shifted to Saturday (August 31), as Sadd qualified for the quarterfinals of AFC Champions League, where they will play their first leg away to Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr in Riyadh tomorrow.
Al Ahli’s match against Al Sailiya on August 31 has been shifted from the Al Sadd Stadium to Al Janoub Stadium, also in view of Sadd’s qualification for the AFC Champions League quarterfinals and also on the request of National Teams Committee.
Sailiya’s game against Sadd in Week 3 has been postponed to September 24 from September 15 due to the former’s Champions League second-leg quarterfinal against Nassr, to be played in Doha on September 16.
Al Duhail’s match against Al Rayyan in Week 3 on 15th September has now been scheduled to be played at the Al Janoub Stadium on the request of Asian Football Confederation due to preparations at the venue for the Al Sadd vs Al Nassr game.
It may be noted that the QSL had hinted at schedule changes when it announced the fixtures, because of the possibility of Al Sadd or Al Duhail qualifying for the AFC Champions League quarterfinals.
