Qatar ready for Nigerian challenge at FIFA U-20 World Cup

Doha, Qatar: Qatar boys are ready for the FIFA U-20 World Cup in Poland which starts today.

Qatar boys start their campaign on Friday, with a match against Nigeria in Group D. Qatar’s second match is against Ukraine on May 27 while they take on the US on May 30.

Earlier on Monday, Qatar Football Association (QFA) President Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani met with Qatar players.

The QFA president urged the players to give their best as top teams in the world are competing in the event.

Qatar, coached by Bruno Miguel, will be looking for a repeat performance from striker Abdulrasheed Umaru. The Al Ahli forward found the net seven times at the AFC U-19 Championship in Indonesia to land the Top Scorer award.

Hashim Ali, who scored five goals in Indonesia, and highly regarded defender Nasir Baksh are also expected to play key roles in Qatar's campaign.
