Qatar beat Korea to finish third at AFC U23

Kunshan, China: Akram Afif scored the winner but Yousof Hassan also emerged as a hero, saving a penalty, as Qatar defeated South Korea 1-0 finish third at the 2018 AFC U23 Championship on Friday.
Afif, starting from his own half, used his blistering pace to full effect as he raced in behind the Korean defence, and scored at the second attempt after Kang Hyeon-mu saved his initial shot on goal.
Korea had a golden chance to equalise when the referee deemed the ball had hit Tameem Al Muhaza’s had inside the box and pointed to the penalty spot. However, Hassan dived to his left to save Hwang Hyun-Soo’s effort.
Afif then had a chance to double his tally as his pace once again put Koreans under pressure, but this time Kang Hyeon-Mu made a terrific save while Almoez could not take advantage of the loose ball.
Korea also had chances and the best of them went to Cho Jae-Wan, whose left-footer ricocheted off the far upright.
