Promoted Lusail SC sign Macedonian forward Stojanovski ahead of Doha Bank Stars League debut
DOHA: Newly promoted Lusail Sports Club have signed Macedonian forward Georg Stojanovski from Bulgarian club Spartak Varna as they continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the 2026-27 Doha Bank Stars League season, the club said.
Financial terms of the deal and the length of the contract were not disclosed.
Stojanovski becomes the latest addition to Lusail’s squad as the club prepares for its first-ever campaign in Qatar’s top flight following promotion from the second division.
Lusail have been active in the transfer market during the close season, also recruiting Naif Al Hadrami, Mohammed Ayash, Mohammed Khaled, Ali Nemati and Argentine defender Franco Russo as they seek to bolster the squad for the challenges of top-flight football.
The club secured promotion after an impressive second-division campaign, earning a place in the 2026-27 Doha Bank Stars League for the first time in its history.
Lusail will be aiming to establish themselves in the top division as they embark on their maiden season, with the new signings expected to add experience and depth to the squad.
