Our goal is to keep winning, says Al Sadd’s Yasser Abubaker

Doha, Qatar: Yasser Abubaker is one of the key players of Al Sadd. The defender is looking forward to a great game against Al Arabi in Week 13 of the QNB Stars League, dubbed the Qatar Derby.

Ahead of the match scheduled for Saturday, 24th November, at the Al Arabi Stadium, Yasser spoke to QSL Online in an exclusive interview.

What’re your expectations of the game against Al Arabi?

For sure, it’s going to be a tough game and our goal is to win, so we can continue to challenge for the title. Especially because this season’s QNB Stars League is fought more fiercely.

How are you preparing for this clash?

We’ve been training daily with all strength despite the absence of some players who were on international duty during the FIFA break.

What’re the strengths of Al Sadd?

Al Sadd are a formidable side. Our goal is to keep winning. We’ve a chance to top the QNB Stars League standings before the break as we’ve six games left to play (including the rescheduled ones against Al Khor and Al Duhail). We’re targeting full points from all these matches.

What’s your message to the fans ahead of the big clash?

Our fans support us in all matches. I hope they’ll rally behind the team this time too while we fight it out on the pitch in our bid to clinch the title.
