Neymar shrugs off injury scare in Asian Champions League, calling It “Just a strong cramp”
RIYADH : Al-Hilal’s star forward Neymar offered a reassuring update after limping off during Monday’s Asian Champions League match against Esteghlal. Coming on as a second-half substitute, the Brazilian was forced to exit just 30 minutes later due to what he described as “a very strong cramp.” Despite the setback, Al-Hilal went on to secure a 3-0 victory.
Having only returned to action two weeks ago following an ACL injury sustained last October, Neymar admitted he had been cautioned by doctors about the potential for muscle issues during his comeback. The 32-year-old took to Instagram, stating, “It felt like a cramp, only very strong! I’m going to have some tests and I hope it’s nothing too serious.”
While the forward acknowledged the incident as a reminder to pace himself, he expressed optimism, crediting his medical team for preparing him for the possibility of muscle strain. “It’s normal for this to happen after a year,” he added. Neymar’s fans and teammates will hope the tests confirm his initial assessment, allowing him to continue rebuilding his fitness and contributing to Al-Hilal’s campaign in the league.(Reuters)
