Nakheel Landscapes back Leonesa
ASPIRE Zone Foundation (AZF)-owned Spanish football club Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa signed Nakheel Landscapes as official sponsor and exclusive turf-management partner last week.
The agreement was signed by Leonesa Vice-President Ivan Bravo, who is also Director General of the ASPIRE Academy, and Nakheel Landscapes Managing Director Ghassan Oueijan. The ceremony was attended by AZF CEO Mohammed Khalifa Al Suwaidi and Nakheel Vice-President Sheikh Fahad bin Mohammed Al Thani.
As part of the agreement, Nakheel will provide financial support and expertise as a ‘turf enhancement advisor’ for six years, starting with the 2017-2018 season, to develop effective methods for maintaining the club’s natural and artificial sport fields.
Al Suwaidi said, “We’re positive that this agreement is beneficiary for both organisations. The AZF is proud to support local companies such as Nakheel Landscapes by utilising their expertise at the local and international levels.”
Bravo said, “We finished last season on a high note, ensuring the club’s promotion to Spain’s Second Division. At Aspire, we’ve exerted great efforts to ensure that young Qatari players gain international exposure and experience through our involvement in clubs such as Leonesa. These efforts will be cemented through partnerships with local Qatari companies such as Nakheel Landscapes, which’ll support our aim.”
Sheikh Fahad said, “Nakheel is very proud to support the AZF’s international sports ambitions on a long-term basis through this sponsorship agreement.”
