Msakni, Nam score a double as Al Duhail thrash Umm Salal 5-0

Doha: Fresh from their win in the AFC Champions League three days ago, Al Duhail continued with their impressive show by thrashing Umm Salal 5-0 in the 17 round of QNB Stars League here on Thursday.

Captain Youssef Msakni (14th and 59th minutes), Nam Tae-Hee (10th and 15th), and Luis Martin (fifth) scored the goals Djamel Belmadi’ side maintained their lead on 45 points in the 12-team tournament.

Tunisian international Msakni was in blazing form as he took his personal goals tally to 18 in the tournament while Nam added his 10th.

Belmadi rested key players Youssef El Arabi and midfielder Karim Boudiaf as he didn’t want to risk injury before their key Champions League match against UAE’s Al Wahda on February 19.

Midfielder Luis Martin was back from an injury lay-off and had a confident start with a fifth-minute goal as the defending champions were up 4-0 up by the first quarter.

Umm Salal, who were without suspended Tunisian midfielder Oussama Darragi, had a tough time as Duhail dominated.

Barring superbly-taken freekick by striker Yannick Sagbo that was saved by goalkeeper Amine Lecomte, Duhail defence didn’t face any tough challenge from Umm Salal, who had beaten Al Khor in the previous round under new coach Talal El Karkouri.
