Manchester City sign Benjamin Mendy from Monaco

London: Manchester City signed France international Benjamin Mendy from Monaco on a five-year-old deal on Monday.
The 23-year-old will now join up with his new team-mates in the USA where Pep Guardiola and his squad are preparing for their second pre-season tour game against Real Madrid in LA.
“I’m absolutely delighted to be joining City,” said Mendy. “They’re one of Europe’s leading clubs and in Pep Guardiola they’ve a manager committed to playing attacking football. I’m sure that over the next few years we’ll be successful.”
City’s Director of Football, Txiki Begiristain, said: “Benjamin has all the qualities we’re looking for in a full-back. For such a young player, he has a wealth of top-level experience. He’s undoubtedly one of the world’s best full-backs, our No.1 target in this position. I’m sure he’ll prove a fantastic addition to the squad.”
