Manchester City celebrate historic fourth successive Premier League title

MANCHESTER: Manchester City saw grey skies turn to blue on Sunday as they celebrated a record fourth successive Premier League title. Fans poured into the streets of Manchester to cheer on their heroes, transforming the city into a sea of blue.

City secured their place in the history books with a commanding 3-1 victory over West Ham United on the final day of the season. Finishing with 91 points, two ahead of Arsenal, they became the first English club to achieve four consecutive league titles.

The celebrations were spectacular. Players and staff waved to fans from an open-top bus as confetti rained down and blue smoke flares filled the air. The victory parade took place just hours after thousands participated in the Great Manchester Run, adding to the city’s festive atmosphere.

Not even the previous day’s FA Cup final defeat to arch-rivals Manchester United could dampen spirits. Flags, inflatable bananas, and even a blow-up Jack Grealish dummy were held aloft in triumph.

“We’re delighted with this season but we want to go back and try and win more,” said Player of the Year Phil Foden, who scored 19 league goals. “It’s the hunger inside me to win trophies. We have a great group. It’s been a special season. Obviously it’s something nobody’s done before, an incredible feeling, we couldn’t have done it without the staff or the fans.”

City’s ambition to keep winning was echoed by Portugal international Bernardo Silva, reflecting the team’s drive to continue their dominance despite the FA Cup setback.
