MAK Qatar, TJSV win in QIA Champions League

Doha: The sixth edition of the QIA Champions League All-India Football Tournament got underway at the Doha Stadium on Friday.

In the first match, 21st Century Care N Cure MAK Qatar defeated Friday SC Naseem Al Rabeeh 4-1. Safwan gave Friday SC an early lead but a hat-trick from Faisal saw MAK Qatar dominate the game. Febin added a fourth goal late on to complete the scoring for MAK Qatar.

The second match of Day 1 saw City Exchange TJSV Tea Time FC face off with Rusiya Adastra FC. In a fiery encounter that saw the referee dish out four yellow cards and as many red cards, TJSV eventually prevailed 2-1, courtesy a double from Mousoof. Faisal scored from the penalty spot for Rusiya in the second half, but it would only be a consolation goal.

Faisal of MAK Qatar was adjudged the Man of the Match for the first game while Mousoof took home the accolade in the second game.

The next round of action from the QIA Champions League will be held at the Doha Stadium on Thursday, 29th March, with three games set to be played.
