Jaish eye historic final berth
DOHA: El Jaish coach Sabri Lamouchi said his players were ready to put up a strong fight against Al Ain in the AFC Champions League semifinal second leg, to be played at the Lekhwiya Stadium on Tuesday.
Jaish went down 1-3 in the first leg and the Soldiers will be eager for a 2-0 win this time.
“The conditions are favourable for us. I’ve great confidence in my players. We’re going to achieve a positive result against Al Ain and book our first final berth,” said Lamouchi, who added that he had studied the opponents in detail and would make an approach accordingly. Lamouchi also picked out Al Ain’s skilful playmaker Omar Abdulrahman for special praise.
Meanwhile, Al Ain coach Zlatko Dalic said the second leg would witness a strong performance from both teams.
“We’re expecting a strong game as Jaish have very good players like Romarinho, Sardor Rashidov and Majed Mohammed in their ranks.
“We aren’t looking too much on the first leg’s scoreline. We’re here to win the game and progress to the final. It’s an important tie for both teams and we’re here to give it our all,” said Dalic.– Doha Stadium Plus
