Inzaghi takes charge at Al-Hilal after Inter exit

RIYADH: Simone Inzaghi has been appointed head coach of Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal, the club confirmed on Wednesday. The announcement came just a day after the 49-year-old Italian parted ways with Inter Milan following a heavy 5-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League final — a crushing end to a season without silverware.
Al-Hilal revealed that Inzaghi signed a two-year contract in Paris, with Italian media suggesting his salary could reach up to €30 million ($34.25 million) per season. The club hailed him as “The Italian Genius” in their official announcement.
Inzaghi arrives with a strong managerial résumé, having won six trophies with Inter, including a Serie A title, two Coppa Italias, and three Italian Super Cups. He now takes over the most decorated club in Saudi Arabia, with 19 domestic titles and four Asian Champions League crowns.
His first major assignment will be leading Al-Hilal at the Club World Cup in the United States, where they face European champions Real Madrid on June 18.(Reuters)
