India meet Jordan in QFA’s Community Football semifinal
Doha: India along with Jordan, Nepal and Lebanon advanced into the semifinals of the Sixth Asian Community Football Tournament.
In the first semifinal on Friday, India face Jordan while Nepal and Lebanon square off in the other at the Doha Stadium.
India had defeated Bangladesh 2-1 in the quarterfinal while Jordan overcame Indonesia 2-0.
The community event, which brings together various Asian communities in Qatar, is organised by the Qatar Football Association and feature 12 teams this year.
The best players of last week’s quarterfinals include Murad Al Sous (Jordan), Shiva Shrestha (Nepal), Shahed Bakr (India) and Hussain Mansour (Lebanon).
The tournament falls under QFA’s Sub-Leagues Committee which oversees the organising of QFA’s tournaments that target the different segments of the community.
