Former Al Sadd coach Ferreira moves to Santos

Doha, Qatar: Former Al Sadd coach Jesualdo Ferreira has replaced Argentinian Jorge Sampaoli as the coach of Brazilian side Santos.

Ferreira, 73, has been without a team since leaving Al Sadd, where Xavi Hernandez replaced him during the close season.

The veteran Portuguese, who enjoyed his best season in 2018-19 guiding Sadd to the Qatar Stars League triumph, has also won them the Qatar Cup, Amir Cup and Sheikh Jassim Cup, after joining from Egypt’s Zamalek in November 2015.

Ferreira had won the Qatar Football Association’s Best Coach Award in 2017 and 2019.
