FIFA VAR referees seminar wraps up in Doha

Doha: The FIFA VAR (Video Assistant Referee) seminar concluded Tuesday in Doha after three days of training, with 20 referees from Asia and Africa taking part.

The seminar featured remote lectures from Pierluigi Collina, Chairman of FIFA’s Referees Committee, and Massimo Busacca, FIFA’s Director of Refereeing. The sessions were conducted via video conference and were attended by Hani Ballan, Deputy Chairman of FIFA’s Referees Committee and Chairman of Qatar Referees Committee.

The event focused on developing referees’ technical skills and deepening their understanding of VAR protocols. The lectures were delivered by Mike van der Roest, FIFA’s Refereeing VAR Project Leader, Michael Bailey, VAR Project Manager, Massimiliano Irrati from Italy, and Serbian referee Milorad Mazic.
