Doha: The official squad lists for the FIFA U17 World Cup have been announced, with a total of 504 young hopefuls can now begin to dream of following in the footsteps of Neymar, Ronaldinho, Luis Figo, Toni Kroos, Gianluigi Buffon and Andres Iniesta, according to a report published on FIFA.com.
The youngsters will showcase their talents across six host cities Goa, Guwahati, Kochi, Kolkata, Navi Mumbai and New Delhi.
Some emerging talents will be on display including USA forward Josh Sargent, who shined at the recent FIFA U-20 World Cup in South Korea, scoring four goals. Team-mate Tim Weah, son of African footballing legend George Weah, will also be closely watched.
Brazil’s Vinicius Junior, who recently signed with FIFA Club World Cup holders Real Madrid, and France’s Amine Gouiri are other promising players.
The tournament begins on Friday 6 October with action in Groups A and B while the final will be in Kolkata on October 28.
