Del Piero completes UEFA Pro course, Juve fans dream of return

MILAN: Alessandro Del Piero, a legendary figure in Juventus and Italian football history, took a major step toward a potential coaching career by earning his UEFA Pro Licence, the highest qualification for managers in European football.

The 2006 World Cup winner and six-time Serie A champion made the announcement on Tuesday, saying in a social media post, “Starting today, you can call me ‘Mister’.” He expressed gratitude to the Italian football federation (FIGC) and the instructors who guided him during the course held in Coverciano, Florence.

Del Piero, now 50, remains a beloved icon at Juventus, where he spent 19 unforgettable seasons and lifted the Champions League trophy. Fans quickly flooded social media with calls for him to return to the club in a coaching role—fueling dreams of seeing their former captain lead from the touchline.

When he left Juventus in 2012, the club had proposed retiring his famous number 10 shirt. Del Piero declined, saying he wanted future generations to dream of wearing it. Now, with his coaching credentials complete, another dream—seeing him manage Juventus—may just be on the horizon.
