Darragi scores a double as Umm Salal beat Al Kharaitiyat

Doha: New signing Oussama Darragi made a dazzling start to his Qatar stint, scoring a double, as Umm Salal defeated Al Kharaitiyat 3-1 in the first match of the QNB Stars League’s second phase on Thursday.

Darragi, who showed his strength, ball control and shooting ability in ample measures in the 22nd minute when he opened the scoring with a stunning long-ranger, doubled his tally in two minutes, slotting home Mahmoud Al Mawas’ pinpoint cross. Mohammad Al Sayed put the game beyond Kharaitiyat in the 43rd minute with a third goal. Abdulaziz Al Ansari’s strike in the 83rd was only the only consolation for Kharaitiyat.

Umm Salal, with 19 points from 12 matches, are fifth while Kharaitiyat are 10th with nine.
