QATAR’S orthopaedic and sports medicine hospital Aspetar will sponsor the Excellence in Football Research Award, for the best abstracts presented during 27th European College of Sport Science’s Congress in Essen, Germany, from July 5 to 8.
The award’s aim is to attract and support novel, applied research projects with relevance to football.
Although this does not exclude basic science studies, the award is mainly aimed at stimulating more research on applied science with potential applications to the football pitch.
There is no age limit and all scientists can compete for the prize.
The winner will bag €2500 while second and third-place finishers will bag €500 each.
