Ancelotti prioritizes winning over style as Real Madrid battle injuries

MADRID: Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti brushed off criticism of his team’s playing style on Friday, emphasizing that winning is more important than playing attractive football. Despite being unbeaten this season with five wins in seven matches, Real Madrid have faced scrutiny for their lack of flair on the pitch.

Speaking ahead of Sunday’s LaLiga clash with Espanyol, Ancelotti acknowledged the high expectations of the club’s fans but stressed the need to adapt, particularly with several key players out injured.

“Real Madrid fans prefer winning over playing well,” Ancelotti remarked. “Ideally, we aim for both, but our priority is delivering results while our squad deals with injuries and players working toward peak form.”
