Amorim admits time is against him as United slump to another defeat

NOTTINGHAM, England: Ruben Amorim has acknowledged that he will not be given much time to turn things around at Manchester United after his side suffered a disappointing 1-0 defeat against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.
Former United forward Anthony Elanga struck early at the City Ground to hand Forest a comfortable victory, condemning United to their 13th Premier League defeat of the season. This loss puts them just one defeat away from matching their record of 14 league losses in the 2023-24 campaign, leaving them in 13th place in the table.
“In Manchester United, you don’t have the time,” Amorim admitted. “I will not have the time. We have to get it right fast. The pressure is too big sometimes.”
United struggled to break down Forest, who defended deep and looked to hit on the counterattack. Despite dominating possession in the second half, United’s attacking inefficiency cost them once again. Alejandro Garnacho, in particular, had a frustrating night, managing six of United’s 24 shots but failing to truly test Forest goalkeeper Matz Sels.
Amorim, however, defended the young Argentine: “He’s trying. Sometimes you have a day where you’re doing the right things, but in the final third, you’re not that good. That can happen.”
With pressure mounting and results failing to improve, Amorim faces an uphill battle to prove he can steer United back in the right direction.(Reuters)
