Al Rayyan enter Emir’s Cup final

DOHA: Al Rayyan played a spectacular end game to defeat defending champions Lekhwiya 3-1 and progress to the final of the Emir's Cup on Saturday.

In a thrilling game at the Al Sadd Stadium, captain Rodrigo Tabata did the star turn for the Lions by scoring a late brace to shock newly-crowned league champions Lekhwiya.

Michael Laudrup's men had taken the lead in the 65th through Musaab Kheder while Youssef Msakni equalised in the 72nd.

And Tabata yet again turned Rayyan's hero when he struck home a free-kick in the 81st and then slotted the winner in the 91st to seal the issue.

In next Friday's final, Rayyan will take on the winners of the second semifinal between El Jaish and Al Sadd, to be played on Sunday.
