Al Markhiya hold Al Arabi in QSL Cup

Doha: Al Markhiya held Al Arabi to a 2-2 draw in their second match to go provisionally on top of Group B in the QSL Cup on Monday.

Markhiya, who defeated Al Sadd 2-0 in the first match, now have four points.

In the match played at Al Shamal Stadium,  Nasser Ibrahim gave Markhiya the lead in the 27th minute when he fired a left-footer from outside the box that beat keeper Muhannad Naim all ends up.

Though Saad Natiq equalised in the 44th minute, heading home a corner from the left, Talal Al Shila converted from the spot the very next minute as Markhiya led 2-1 at halftime.

But Husam Hassunin equalised through a stunning long-range shot in the 67th to secure a point for Arabi.

Al Rayyan, who defeated Ahli in their opener, take Sadd in their next match on Wednesday.
