Al Haidous out for one month after undergoing surgery

AL SADD will miss wily forward Hassan Al Haidous for a month after he underwent surgery for a sports hernia injury in Germany last week.
Al Haidous has been in fine form and scored five goals to help Sadd end the Qatar Stars League’s first phase as leaders.
“Football is like this. Every player suffers injuries. My surgery came at a crucial time, with the team facing important matches during a busy schedule. I’ve begun my recuperation phase, which could take up to four weeks,” said Al Haidous, who is expected to be back in time for the AFC Champions League play-off against Iran’s Esteghlal on February 7.
The Qatar national team vice-captain said he suffered the injury early in the season.
“I had suffered the injury during the league’s fourth-round match against Muaither. It ruled me out of the ties against Al Gharafa and Al Shahaniya,” said Al Haidous.
“I managed to return after recovering and played the World Cup qualifier against China. However, with the increase in the number of matches in November and December, I again felt the pain and our medical staff decided I should undergo a surgery.”
He said Sadd were good enough to regain the league title this time.
“I’ve a lot of confidence in my team-mates. They can give their best in the coming matches and finish our journey with the QSL title. We’re fighting hard for it this season. The series of good performances the team had delivered prior to the break is proof of our quality. It gives us confidence to go all the way,” Al Haidous signed off.
