Al Gharafa enter QSL Cup semifinals

Doha: Al Gharafa booked their berth in the semifinal of the QSL Cup after a 1-1 draw against Al Kharaitiyat in a Group A match on Monday.

Gharafa lead the group with 10 points from four matches while Kharaitiyat are second on eight. Qatar SC, with four points,  are the only other team in the group with a chance of qualifying for the last four.

Kharaitiyat took the lead in the 10th minute when Abdulla Al Anzi’s header went past a scampering Gharafa goalkeeper Abdulaziz Ali after Abdaraman Abdallah hooked a deep free-kick from the right back into the danger area.

But their lead did not last long as Luiz Gimenez found the equaliser after a beautiful move also involving Moayad Hassan and Othman Al Yahri.
