Al Duhail overcome Al Ahli 1-0
DOHA: Michael Olunga’s 42nd-minute effort helped Al Duhail overcome Al Ahli in the seventh round match of Qatar Stars League at the Al Thumama Stadium on Saturday.
Duhail, who suffered their only defeat of the season so far against Al Shahania in the previous round, returned to winning ways and took their points tally to 18.
Al Ahli remained on 14 points.
Qatar SC beat Al Wakrah 2-1
Qatar SC scored a goal in each half to upstage 10-man Al Wakrah 2-1.
Eisa Palangi (41st minute) and Khaled Mahmoudi (88th minute) scored for Qatar SC, while Ricardo Gomes got Al Wakrah’s only goal in the 24th minute.
Al Wakrah’s Almahdi Ali was shown the red card in the 25th minute after he dangerously tackled Qatar SC’s Ahmed Mohammed Radwan from behind.
Al Shamal sign Tunisian player
Al Shamal Club has announced signing of Tunisian player Naim Sliti to join the first football team for one season.
The contract is renewable, the club said in a statement.
Meanwhile, Baghdad Bounedjah’s hat-trick helped Al Shamal to a decisive 5-2 victory against Al Arabi at Al Khor Stadium on Saturday.
