Al Arabi extend contract of coach Heimir Hallgrimsson

Doha, Qatar: Qatar Stars League club Al Arabi extended the contract of coach Heimir Hallgrimsson until the end of 2020-21 season.

Iceland coach Hallgrimson had signed an 18-month deal when he joined the Reds in November 2018.

It was the first job for Hallgrimsson since leaving the post with Iceland, who he famously led to the quarterfinals of the Euro 2016 in the company of co-manager Lars Lagerback.

Hallgrimsson had an impressive start with Arabi and this season they were particularly good at the beginning before an injury to key player Aron Gunnarsson hindered their progress.

Arabi now are sixth in the table with 15 points from 10 matches and they next take on Al Ahli on Thursday.
